Thank you, Madame L!
Everyone's favorite Bay Area-based skeinster, Madame L, has truly gone above and beyond in the Generosity and Hospitality department. Lady M would like to thank her for the surprise shipment of San Francisco-themed goodies -- she was delighted! And imagine my surprise to receive an honest-to-goodness congratulatory...singing telegram! I had no idea that such services still existed. Madame L, your thoughtfulness is charming and touching. Thank you, soon-to-be-neighbor.

For those interested tajtunes.com. Here is the story from NPR. Five bones and they email you an mp3 of the delivered song/victim's response. I figure if Ben can spend most of a decade becoming a doctor, he can bear a few more days of good wishes.
If he'd just have picked up the phone rather than having it slide to voicemail, I would have posted that sucker up on the web so fast...

Ms S. and I wish we could have heard it but the competition to attract Dr. Ben and Lady M. is not over yet. If he signs up for Kabul's Holy Prophet PBUH Hospital we can offer blood on the Emergency Unit walls and a big welcoming hug from a bearded Mullah. Just a thought.
Honestly, Ben. How can you resist Tom's offer?!
Actually I'm ready to sweeten it: If Ben signs up now (Afghan operators working in Lahore call centers are standing by) he will also get a diet of greasy lamb kabobs and all the green OR black (Afghanistan is blessed with both!) tea he can drink. And then there will be more tea. And that will be followed by tea.
