Vigil
Last night went to a candlelight vigil for Iran with N and her mother. It was a very dignified affair at San Francisco City Hall; visually striking, since most people wore mourning black with green accessories. One guy tried shouting political slogans, but was shushed (literally) by the crowd. Lots of poems and songs, a speech by city supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, and I learned the tune of the unofficial Iranian anthem, although the Farsi is still a bit beyond me.

Farsi's beyond me too, although I'm dipping into Rosetta Stone!
Thanks for supporting the cause.
By the way, in practice (but not in text books) Iranians use a lot of words that are familiar from French.
